The Power of Communication: Finding Confidence through Skin, Hair and Self-Esteem
As time and age start to manifest, confidence can start to elude us. Perhaps it’s down to changes in our skin and facial architecture – or hair loss as a result of hormonal fluctuations, a compromised scalp, or stress. Maybe it’s the gradual waning of self-esteem, and a sense of feeling less relevant, or even invisible, both personally and professionally. So, how can we communicate newfound strength as our identity starts to shift?
In conversation with an open-minded, all-female panel of experts – including aesthetic doctor and Otolaryngology consultant surgeon, Dr Maya Shahsavari; hair expert and founder of Neville Hair & Beauty in London, Elena Lavagni; and Professor of Psychology and Ouronyx co-founder, Ida Banek – we explored the treatments and therapies that can help to reinstate our sense of self-worth. Skin optimisation and hair restoration, through to non-verbal communication and self-awareness were all up for discussion – but so too was a greater examination of our internal dialogue.
The aim? To empower ourselves through communication – both internally as well as externally – while bringing greater confidence to every area of our lives.
