Nothing is Filtered: Where Skin and Self-Esteem Collide
We spend our lives looking at our skin in mirrors, on screens, through filters that don't exist in real life. Yet we rarely talk about what happens in the space between the reflection and the feeling.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, we're bringing together the clinical and the psychological to ask the questions many of us are already asking ourselves. Aesthetic practitioner and skin expert, Dr Yusra Al-Mukhtar, will explore the treatments now shaping how we see and feel about our complexions; consultant plastic surgeon, Mr Paul Tulley, will discuss where surgical interventions and psychology collide; and sophrologist, Dominique Antiglio, brings the deeper work of mental resilience and confidence that exists beyond the mirror.
How do we care for our skin without letting that care tip into self-criticism? How do we pursue the treatments that feel right for us, without losing sight of who we are beneath them? This panel will sit in the tension between self-care and self-scrutiny, between comfort in our own skin and the pressure to perfect it.
Due to the nature of this event and its venue, attendance is by invitation only.
We keep our private events intentionally intimate, allowing for a more personal and considered experience for all involved.
