Birth Control: Taking Ownership of Body, Mind and Intimacy

The female body moves through many chapters of choice and change, yet much of what happens after childbirth remains quietly unspoken. We talk about contraception and labour preparation, but the physical recovery, emotional adjustment, and the work of feeling like yourself again often happens in silence. How do we navigate these decisions with greater knowledge, and truly reclaim ownership of our bodies throughout?

This conversation brings together three leading voices in women's health: consultant gynaecologist Miss Smita Sinha, consultant obstetrician Mrs Nikki Lack, and pelvic floor physiotherapist Clare Bourne. Together they'll explore what birth and recovery actually look like, from the impact of contraception and preparing for delivery through to the realities of physical healing, the vital role of the pelvic floor, and finding your way back to intimacy, identity and confidence in your own anatomy. They'll share the knowledge, tools and honest guidance needed to move through each phase with greater understanding.

The aim is to open up the conversation around what birth and recovery truly look like, while equipping you with the knowledge to take ownership of your body, mind and intimacy.
Babies are welcome to accompany mothers — please just confirm with us ahead of your arrival.
